When you need a birth certificate translation
A translated birth certificate is one of the most requested documents in any immigration case. USCIS asks for it with green card, citizenship and family petitions, and it is also needed for passport applications, school enrollment, marriage licenses and Social Security matters.
What the translation includes
We translate everything that appears on the certificate: the child’s name, parents’ names, dates and places of birth, registration and book numbers, stamps, seals, signatures and any marginal notes added later.
The work is done by an ATA-certified translator, formatted to follow the original, and delivered with a signed certificate of accuracy.
Before you order
Send every page, including the back if it carries stamps or annotations. Tell us how the names are spelled in the passport so the translation matches your other documents.
How it works
- Send the document. Email or text a clear scan or photo, or bring it to one of our offices.
- Approve the quote. We confirm the price, the language pair and the delivery date.
- Translation and certification. An ATA-certified translator completes the translation and the certificate of accuracy is signed.
- Delivery. Receive a PDF by email, pick up signed copies, or have them mailed.
Certified or notarized?
A certified translation carries the translator’s signed statement of accuracy and is what USCIS, the DMV, most courts and most universities require. A notarized translation adds a notary stamp to that statement for $10. The notary confirms who signed the certificate and does not review the translation. See what is a notarized translation.
