A mortgage or refinance closing can be signed at your home or office with a mobile notary signing agent. At Pac Signing a full loan signing is $175. The signing agent brings or prints the package, walks you through where to sign, notarizes the documents that need it, and returns the package to the title or escrow company.
What is in a loan package
- Promissory note and deed of trust
- Closing disclosure
- Affidavits such as the signature name affidavit
- Tax and compliance forms
- For refinances of a primary home, the notice of right to cancel
What to bring to the signing
- A current photo ID for every borrower. Oregon accepts a passport, driver license, state ID, military ID or tribal ID, current or expired within the last three years.
- Every person whose name is on the loan.
- Any check or documents the title company asked for.
What the signing agent can and cannot do
The signing agent checks IDs, shows you where to sign and date, notarizes the required pages and makes sure nothing is missed. The agent cannot explain loan terms or give legal or financial advice. Questions about rates or fees go to your lender or escrow officer, ideally before the appointment.
After you sign
The signed package goes back to the title or escrow company, usually the same day. On a refinance of your primary home, federal law gives you three business days to cancel, so funding happens after that period.
Other real estate documents
We also notarize deeds, quitclaims and powers of attorney used for real estate. See real estate notary signing and mobile notary for real estate closing.
