Power of Attorney Notary in Happy Valley, Oregon

In Happy Valley, a power of attorney is often signed so that someone else can sell, buy or refinance a house: a spouse who is travelling at closing, an owner who has moved out of state, or a parent who can no longer manage the paperwork. Pac Signing Notary notarizes it at your home or at our Lake Oswego office. See all our power of attorney notary services in Oregon.

Using a power of attorney for real estate

  1. Check that it covers real estate. The document should give the agent power over real property, and many title companies want the property described.
  2. It must be notarized. Oregon does not require notarization for every power of attorney, but one used to convey real property must be acknowledged before a notary so it can be recorded with the county (ORS 93.670).
  3. Send it to the title company early. Most escrow officers want to review and approve the power of attorney days before closing, not on the day.
  4. Recording. The title company usually records it with the Clackamas County clerk together with the deed.
