Where we go in Lake Oswego

Most of our local calls fall into three groups.

  • Care communities. The state licenses Kellogg Assisted Living at Mary’s Woods at 17395 Holy Names Drive. Residents there usually ask for a notary for powers of attorney, advance directives and trust paperwork. We meet the signer in their apartment or a common room, and we ask the family to check the community’s visitor rules first.
  • Offices. Typical requests are loan packages, affidavits and business agreements that several people have to sign together.
  • Homes. Refinance and purchase signings at a kitchen table make up much of the rest, along with vehicle titles and travel consent letters for minors.

Neighborhoods and ZIP codes we reach

Lake Oswego uses two ZIP codes, 97034 and 97035, and we cover both. The city recognizes 25 neighborhood associations. Among them are First Addition, Lake Grove, Mountain Park, Westlake, Palisades, Lakewood, Old Town, Glenmorrie, Hallinan Heights, Uplands, Waluga, Bryant, Evergreen, Blue Heron, McVey-South Shore, Rosewood, Birdshill and Forest Highlands.

Walk in or have us come to you

Having an office and mobile notaries in the same city gives Lake Oswego customers a real choice. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm, and we are closed on Sunday. The mobile notaries work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are often available the same day. If the signer can travel and the document can wait for office hours, coming to us costs less. If the signer is in a care community, recovering at home, or free only late in the evening, a mobile visit is the practical route. Either way, each signer needs acceptable ID: a passport, a driver license or ID card from any state, a military ID or a tribal ID, current or expired no more than 3 years.

Mobile notary fees in Lake Oswego

A mobile visit has two parts. The travel fee starts at $70 and is agreed with you before the notary sets out. The notarial fee is $10 per notarized signature and stamp, which is the most Oregon law allows a notary to charge. One signature notarized at a Lake Oswego address close to our office comes to $80. At the Centerpointe Drive office there is no travel fee, so you pay only the $10 per notarized signature and stamp.

Lake Oswego questions

Can I come to the Centerpointe Drive office instead of paying a travel fee?
Yes. In-office notarization carries only the notarial fee. The office keeps weekday and Saturday morning hours, so booking ahead is the surest way to be seen quickly.

Is 97034 priced differently from 97035?
No separate rate applies to either ZIP code. The travel fee is quoted from the address you give us and agreed before anyone sets out.

Do you notarize for residents of care communities?
Yes. The resident must know what they are signing and be able to communicate with the notary. If a resident is physically unable to sign, Oregon law lets them direct another person, who cannot be the notary, to sign for them.
